Effects of PPARα and δ agonists on the ICAM-1 mRNA expression. RT-PCR analyses of total mRNA extracted from HUVECs that were treated with vehicle (solvent only) or L165041 and WY14643 for varying concentration as indicated for 24 h. Results were confirmed in three independent sets of experiments. The results were normalized to the expression of GAPDH. The relative expression of ICAM-1 is presented in % of control. The mean values from four independent experiments are presented as the mean ± SEM. *p < 0.05
