  1. a Descriptions of MSC in the literature are diverse and many populations have been described which show different patterns of expression. In particular work in mice appears to be strain dependent, but further variation arises from differences in isolation, culture, timing and methodology. Likewise the characteristics of neoplastic cells will vary greatly between different tumors. This table lists those characteristics where at least some cells from each diverse population show either comparative or contrasting features.
