Severity of injury corresponds to acute kidney and liver injury. Serum creatinine (Cr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), BUN/creatinine ratio (BUN:Cr), alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and albumin levels were analyzed using commercial kits at 6 h, 24 h and day-7 post-injury. Data are mean values ± SEM from n = 6-7 rats/timepoint. The shaded gray region represents the reference range for normal values (95% CI) from age/weight matched naïve rats (n = 7)
