MiR-494 enhanced macrophage M1 polarization in vitro and in vivo. Macrophages were transduced with miR-494 mimics or inhibitors and then were treated with erythrocyte lysates for 3 days. a After then, the cell lysates were further analyzed for miR-494 mRNA levels by quantitative RT-PCR. b M1/M2 markers of the cell lysates were further analyzed by qRT-PCR and western blot assay. MiR-494 promoted M1 marker expression and inhibited M2 marker expression in vitro and in vivo. Experiments performed in triplicate showed consistent results. The differences were analyzed using ANOVA. *P < 0.05
