Shh (a), Ptch1 (b), Smo (c) and Gli1 (d) were expressed at low levels in articular cartilage from the sham rats, while relatively strong positive staining of Shh (e), Ptch1 (f), Smo (g) and Gli1 (h) were seen in the AIA rats.
