The figure displays how IR could stimulate key transcription factors modulating inflammatory gene expression profile and cytokines involved in invasiveness and radiation related fibrosis. Targeting Nf-kB and STAT-3 IR activated, could offer the opportunity to improve radiation therapy by enhancing radiosensitivity.
