Regulation of SLPI expression by LPS and peptidoglycan. Differentiated 3T3-L1 adipocytes were either untreated (control, C) or treated with 100 ngml lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or peptidoglycan (PEP) (10 μg/ml) for 24 hours. SLPI mRNA was determined by RT-PCR and western blotting. Both LPS and peptidoglycan increased SLPI mRNA (Figure 3A) and protein (Figure 3B). Bars represent means and ± SEM of 4 different replicates.
