  1. Mice were inoculated with a 1:35 dilution of P. aeruginosa-laden agarose beads. HE3286, HE2000 (positive control) or vehicle alone was delivered by oral gavage (0.1 mL) to mice 24 h before and 1 h after challenge with bacteria laden beads. Bacterial colony counts were performed on whole lung homogenates taken 24 h after the final challenge. Data are expressed as CFU per lung.
