From: Cigarette smoke regulates the expression of TLR4 and IL-8 production by human macrophages
TLR4 involved in CSM-induced IL-8 production. TLR4 stably transfected HEK293 cells or 293-LacZ HEK-293 cells (2 × 106/ml) were stimulated with CSM (0.06 OD) and LPS (100 ng/ml) for overnight. Supernatant were analyzed for IL-8 production by ELISA. Assays were performed in duplicate a minimum of three times. Values are expressed as mean +/- S.E. (n = 3). * signifies (**P = 0.01) of observed effect vs. control.
